Samara Dulvin's Story

On the eve of her second international tournament this time on home soil, hear from our latest Australian Representative to come out of the Mana Athlete program: Samara Dulvin.

Samara joined Mana over 2 years ago to develop her strength and power to hit sixes over the fence as well as develop speed and fitness.

Using the strength and conditioning science systems and processes at Mana, Samara fulfilled her dream of representing Australia this year for the U19s national womens team.


WHAT DID YOU ENJOY THE MOST ABOUT BEING AT MANA?

I love being part of such a close-knit community at Mana. The unwavering support from everyone makes me feel valued and motivated. Knowing that my dreams are backed by people who genuinely care is incredibly empowering. What I enjoy most is how everyone is committed to pushing me to reach my potential, which fuels my passion and drive.




WHAT WAS THE NUMBER ONE HABIT THAT YOU DIDN'T FEEL COMFORTABLE TO LET GO OF?

One habit I struggled to change was my eating habits. I knew I needed to increase my food intake to support my training, but it was hard to make that adjustment.

IS IT STILL HOLDING YOU BACK OR HAVE YOU CONQUERED IT? HOW?


I’ve conquered it by pushing myself to eat more, focusing on a balanced diet to fuel my body. Now, I feel a significant difference—my strength has increased massively, and I can see the positive impact on my performance.




DO YOU HAVE ANY ADVICE FOR SOMEONE WHO MIGHT BE IN THE SAME POSITION AS YOU WERE, BEFORE STARTING THIS JOURNEY?

For someone in the same position as I was before starting this journey, my advice is to always believe in yourself. Trust that you can overcome challenges and reach your goals. But while it's important to stay disciplined and focused, don’t forget to have fun along the way. Enjoy the process, celebrate small victories, and remember that the journey is just as important as the destination. Balancing determination with joy will keep you motivated and resilient. Being part of an amazing community such as Mana makes the fun aspect a bit easier as well but will always keep you motivated.

ARE THERE ANY LESSONS YOU LEARNED?

One of the biggest lessons I learned is to focus on the process rather than obsessing over immediate results. At Mana, I realized that when I trust the process, especially how my fitness relates to my sport, the results naturally follow. ’s all about staying committed to the daily work, knowing that the progress will show up in your game and overall development.

TELL US A FUN FACT THAT NO ONE KNOWS ABOUT YOU?

A fun fact that no one knows about me is that I'm the only one in my family who plays cricket. It's something that makes my journey in the sport unique and special.
